Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program

Florida International University Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program is now accepting application from qualified McNair students to conduct research in the following academic areas: Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Bio-medical Engineering and the Biological Sciences.

Qualification: Applicants to the Summer Research Program should meet the following qualification:

Compensation: Selected candidates will be required to spend 10 weeks in residence at Florida International University. Students selected for the research experience will receive:

Other incidental expenses will be born by the student.

A Brief Profile of Florida International University

Profile of the University:Founded in 1972Florida International University (FIU) is Miami, Dade’s first public, four year university.

Students: The University currently enrolls 38,000 students (fall, 2006), of which approximately 27,360 (72%) are classified as racial/ethnic minority.

Academic: FIU offers more than 200 bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree programs in 17 colleges and schools:  college of architecture and the arts, arts & sciences, business administration, education, engineering and Computing, law, college of medicine (2009) nursing and health sciences, social work, justice and public affairs, the school of hospitality and tourism, stempel school of public affairs and the school of journalism and mass communications.
